More than 400 years of history. Generations of stories. One enduring spirit of bayanihan. 🇵🇭🇺🇸

This Filipino American History Month, we honor the journeys, sacrifices, resilience, and community that have shaped the Filipino American experience across generations.

From migration and labor to medicine, service, and community-building, Filipino Americans have helped shape the story of the United States in countless ways.

For the Philippine American Physiatrist Association, that story is also our own. Since 1975, PAPA has brought Filipino and Filipino American physiatrists together in the shared spirit of bayanihan, strengthening our community while advancing rehabilitation medicine.

We remember those who came before us. 
We celebrate those making history today. 
And we carry their stories, values, and legacy forward.

History lives in the stories we keep, the communities we build, and the spirit of bayanihan we carry forward. ☀️

Calling all #neurorehabilitation professionals: Registration is open for the 2026 Acquired #BrainInjury and #SpinalCordInjury Symposium.

Hosted by Barrow Neurological Institute Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, this interdisciplinary course will focus on the current evidence-based practice and research for the treatment of acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. If you’re an allied health professional who treats these conditions, we hope you’ll join us either in person or virtually on Oct. 3-4. Continuing education credits are available for speech, occupational, and physical therapists. Students are also welcome to attend.
